Do You Need Siding and/or Trim Repairs? Here’s How to Tell
Owning your own home is wonderful and truly freeing. However, it does comes with its fair share of responsibility. One of those responsibilities is keeping your siding and your trim looking great.
Fortunately, you don’t have to take care of that all on your own. At Anderson Painting, we are happy to take a look at your siding and trim and suggest any repairs or maintenance you may need.
Below, we offer some common warning signs that you may need siding and/or trim repairs. This allows you to spot trouble early while it’s still easy to fix, and call on our expert help before it’s too late.
Warning Sign #1: You’re Constantly in Need of New Paint
Painting your home on a fairly regular basis, or at least having the paint touched up, is a good way to keep your home looking its best.
However, you should really only have to repaint every ten years or so. If you’re finding you’re in need of new coats of paint much more frequently than that, this is likely a sign that your siding is either not very high quality or has other issues that need to be addressed.
Take a close look at your paint, and if you notice chipping and peeling happening much sooner than they should, it’s time to give us a call.
Warning Sign #2: You’ve Got Visible Rot
It may surprise you to learn that, over time, siding can actually rot. When that happens, it starts to crumble and fall apart right in front of your eyes.
Obviously, you don’t want to let things get to the “crumbling” stage if you can help it, especially since this can compromise the integrity of your home.
If you think you notice rot, give us a call. We can take a look, assess the problem, and help you decide your best course of action whether it be repairing or replacing your siding.
Warning Sign #3: You Can See Bubbles on the Surface
One final thing to be on the lookout for is bubbles on the surface of your siding. Bubbles can pop up when your siding hasn’t been properly protected from heat, moisture, or other elements, or when exposure has been extreme.
More often than not, the affected parts of the siding will need treatment or replacement, which we can help you with.
As you can see, your siding will often let you know when something is wrong. In fact, anytime you notice anything “off” about your siding, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We are happy to help and to make your siding and trim last for as long as possible.
